Assumption has a free medical camp program unit with our hospital. We were organizing free medical camps, eye screening through schools and blood donation camps. Our camps aim to bring awareness amongst the deprived population in this Mannarkkad block areas, who have no areas to basic healthcare services, knowledge about diseases. Through our medical camps provide free medical advices, medical and checkups for the rural people. If they need specialized treatment or cataract surgeons we refer to Assumption Hospital and give proper treatment with affordable cost, if the people have the Ayshman Bharath RSBY insurance schemes, they get the treatment free of cost. These camps make sure people are getting the healthcare at right time not turns it serious problem. These camps extremely helpful for the poor population in our society. Asha social centre is a community based social program for the weaker section in the society. This centre is predominately and periodically engaged in social service activities into the remote and tribal areas like Attapadi, Erumbakachola, Poonchola, Thenkara and Palakayam. We have conducting free medical & eye check up camps, Awareness generation programs, Counseling activities, Youth clubs, Vacation camps and Community development programs with the support of Panchayat, Forest departments and other social service institutions and NGO’s. In addition to our project we providing educational support, Medical support, Free medicine and Nutritious kit for the needy poor families. We celebrating Onam, Ramadan and Christmas in the community with their children, women and colleagues. Asha is always remains as strong shoulder for the poor vulnerable people in this region. Assumption Hospital Trust started Assumption nursing school on 1995 affiliated with INC (Indian Nursing Council) and KNMC (Kerala Nurses and Mid-wives Council). Most of the students coming from backward area and we provide well advanced classes and training at MSJ Hospitals as well as other specialty hospitals. Students prepared to meet diverse patient’s needs and quality patient care. Students getting educational grants and scholarships from the government to complete their nursing education. We offer a great opportunity for the students who may not have access to the cities for their higher studies, here we assuring the quality training and education facilities for the students. We also arranging campus interviews and placements helped the students to get job easily. Every year 20 female nursing students completing their 3 year general nursing course and enter to job in hospital in India and Abroad. Assumption school of nursing training helps students to feel secure about their competence and ability to step in to their working life. Children today are increasingly victims of many social forces that negatively affect their role as students, here we organizing various awareness programs, vacation camps, training programs through school for shaping the young minds in proper way.
